Schools and Outreach Education Programmes

It’s never too early or too late to learn about sustainable living and the conservation issues that affect us. Through WWF, Student Education programmes and Teacher Training programmes covering all ages are available both in the classroom and through centre-based classes at some of Hong Kong’s most important ecological sites.

Primary School Programmes

WWF-HK organizes a wide range of educational activities for primary level students, both in the classroom and out in the field. From exploring freshwater and wetlands and discovering Hong Kong’s diverse marine ecology to learning how to live sustainably, WWF’s education programmes foster life-long dedication to protecting our environment.

Secondary School Programmes

WWF-HK’s secondary level education programmes aim to enhance students’ understanding of the conservation issues facing Hong Kong, and provide them with the opportunity to learn first-hand through practical experience. With a scope that covers wetlands, freshwater, marine, footprint and other conservation issues, our secondary education programmes help students deepen their relationship with our environment.

Teacher Training

To facilitate greater communication and relationships with educators, in 2001 WWF established an ESD Network for educators. Since then, over 900 teachers and educators have joined. Through this network WWF continues to inform teachers of the latest environmental news and initiatives, which helps achieve a multiplier effect as they pass this knowledge to their students.
