The fashion industry is among the top five-largest polluting industries with its present business model an obvious contributor of stress on natural resources. If production and textile and apparel consumption trends continue, the industry’s environmental footprint will continue to expand and negatively impact the planet.
As a major hub for the global fashion industry, Hong Kong has a large role to play in tackling the industry’s ecological footprint. WWF works with various stakeholders in the industry to help Hong Kong be part of the solution to this global problem.
By engaging companies to implement sustainable practices throughout their business operations, and encouraging forward-looking leaders to reduce carbon emissions, WWF helps educate consumers on reducing the impact of clothing consumption and supporting a circular economy.
