“A Wall of Destruction” 2006-2010
WWF together with another 9 green groups produced a giant display “A Wall of Destruction 2006 - 2010” in July 2010
It shows 49 cases of environmental destruction that the local environmental groups have found from 2006 to 2010. The purpose of the display is to urge the government to fill the policies and legislative loophole in order to prevent history from repeating itself.
Only green groups monitoring environmental destruction is not enough. Community members can play a vital role in reporting suspected eco vandalism or illegal environmental activities. Here are some ways you can report such incidents:
Step 1: Your personal safety must be the number one priority
Step 2: Gain evidence
- photographic evidence (a camera phone image should suffice.)
- mark down the time, date and location
- mark down the make and licence plate number of the vehicle or the company name of the contractor
“A Wall of Destruction 2006-2010” was produced by WWF, the Conservancy Assocation, Designing Hong Kong Limited, Friends of Tai Long Wan, Green Power, Association for Geoconservation Hong Kong, Green Lantau Association, Friends of Sai Kung, Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong Bird Watching Society.
